The Texas Poetry Assignment, edited by Laurence Musgrove, published a pair of my inaugural poems. Amanda Gorman rightly won a lot of praise because her poem met the moment on the Capitol steps on the international stage. I’d like to think mine do as well; the moment and me just met in a different place.
